Microsoft Dynamics 365 is cloud based software solution that has combined CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) that will enable any organization to grow, evolve and transform to meet the need of customers and capture new opportunities.

Earlier traditional enterprise software has been developed on the layer of complicated database. For each business, consultants have to setup, maintain and customize databases for their unique business processes. In Dynamics 365, Microsoft come up with the new concept call common data model which has removed requirement of customizing the databases.

The common data model allows tighter integrations with other applications such as office 365 or any other application having standardized api, Power BI, Microsoft Office 365, the IOT (internet of things) and Cortana Intellegance.

There are two editions of Microsoft Dynamics 365

1. Enterprise Edition
  • Enterprise edition is optimized for large business setup with more than 250+ employees.
  • Enterprise edition comprises of following modules:
  • Dynamics 365 for Sales
  • Dynamics 365 for Customer Service
  • Dynamics 365 for Field Service
  • Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation
  • Dynamics 365 for Operations

2. Business Edition
  • The business edition is optimized for small and mid-sized business with less than 250 employees.
  • Business edition comprises of Dynamics 365 for Financials module with limited functionality from Dynamics 365 for Sales.

The Dynamics 365 Enterprise Edition also includes two new powerful tools. Power Apps is a mobile-first service used to create mobile business apps using a visual designer. It consist of many cloud services which simplify quick contacts among cloud apps. Second important tool is Microsoft Flow, a new workflow management tool that assists process automation using a visual design tool and a library of connected services that organize data movement across Microsoft and non-Microsoft applications.

Microsoft’s new AppSource is also a part of the Dynamics 365 advancement. It was a need from long time back to have a support for individual software vendor solutions just like the online ecosystems that Salesforce pioneered with AppExchange.
