  • The challenge here is to collect large data from each dental practice, normalise & organise it in a manner which helps stakeholders to make decisions. Practice management software can be cloud based or on premise, can use SQL or No-SQL databases, can be behind firewalls or VPN.
  • Medium and large dental clinics have millions of records and there are hundreds of clinics like this. Anticipated records were 100 Million+ from different practices.
  • Displaying these data with charts & grids on the web where the web page should not be slow for the end user.


  • We used multiple database instances one to collect & process data and second to store data in desired format which is easy to retrieve. Data collection unit continuously receives data from various dental clinics. The processing services perform normalization, grouping and aggregation of the data. After this process, data will be saved on different instances with respected relationships and referential integrity. This data is stored as JSON and normalized depending on the nature of data and retrieval needed.
  • Dental clinics can configure goals and widgets based on their requirements. System also shows anonymous cross user comparison to indicate login dental practice position respective to other clinics in the region.

Technology we used

The goal was to provide a web based solution using the latest technology and ease of use. Core logic is redesigned in .NET Core Web API as backend and AngularJs as front end. Batch processing is implemented with async parallel programming in windows service.

  • Collect insurance information from patients via text or email and then pre-check benefits to make sure you have the correct information from the patients prior to their appointments.
  • Patient knows in advance how much will be covered by insurance and how much they have to pay for selected treatment.
